Ibex herd May 14, 2024 The ibex gather this time of year near the village, the lower elevations where fresh spring greens are sprouting. There used to be hundreds of domestic sheep and goats grazing these mountain slopes. We wonder if the ibex numbers are increasing without them. livinginladakh May 15, 2024 at 12:14 am That’s a good question. There are young ones now in May, but not tiny newborns I don’t think. I would guess late spring is birthing time. Their rut is in November and December. Loading... Reply
